Celebrating Retirement After 45 Years as a Nurse

Nurses have always been impressive frontline responders in hospitals and clinics around the world. The pandemic has further revealed their dedication and skill, as we grew to rely on them to fight COVID-19—and to keep everything else running despite it. Without our intelligent, compassionate, and brave nurses, each illness or injury would spell disaster.

Denise is one of these impressive nurses, giving 45 years of her life in nursing service. As a registered nurse and diabetic educator, Denise helped countless patients and colleagues with her compassion and expertise.

For her 2021 retirement, family and coworkers combined efforts on a group retirement card to honor her work as a nurse.

Here are a few of our favorite posts:

Your knowledge, empathy and dedication to diabetes education is exemplary. I hope to emulate these strengths during my career. I have learned so much from you, words cannot describe.

The completion of a satisfying work career is not the end. It is only the beginning of a new phase in life, one in which you can enjoy more of the things you wished you had had more time for.

Friends and family uploaded lots of photos from different stages of Denise’s life, including sweet memories of weddings and work events.

You are one of a kind and your patients are lucky to have had you as part of their team. I feel that you have given me a great foundation and I will try my best and will build on the knowledge you have given me. I will ask myself W.W.D.D. (what would Denise do?)

Handwritten cards were uploaded as images to the group Kudoboard to preserve them forever. (Perfect for old school greeting card lovers.)

Thank you for your service, Denise, and thank you for allowing Kudoboard to be part of your journey. We appreciate your permission to highlight this exemplary retirement Kudoboard and wish you the absolute best in retirement!
